On Sunday 18 April, the Association of Bikers "Villa de Lorqui" organized a motorcycle pilgrimage to the town of Caravaca de la Cruz, which this year celebrates its Jubilee Year.
So, first thing in the morning a large entourage on two wheels-where even saw a Harley-Davidson left the town to reach ilorcitano caravaqueña town where they were received by the local deputy mayor, Amador López.
Taking advantage of the occasion, representatives of the association gave a gift to the Consistory caravaqueño, once gave her a present to the group ilorcitana.
About 70 riders, among whom was the mayor of Lorquí, Dolores García Villa, took the trip to visit the Shrine of the Holy and Vera Cruz, where he attended the celebration of Mass and met with the ritual kiss the above cross.
After these events, cultural toured Caravaca, where they held a living food after which made their way back.
Ties with Caravaca
In fact, Caravaca Lorquí and have two ties, devotion to the Cross and the patronage of the Apostle Santiago, who recently earned him ilorcitano municipality to be included by the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz de Caravaca Roads in the Vera Cruz (www.caminosdelaveracruz.es) in our region.
So Lorquí appears in the third stage of the "Way of the Apostle" pilgrimage route from Cartagena to Caravaca de la Cruz which has a total of six days.
With a total of 24.9 kilometers and final start in Murcia and in Alguazas, this stage offers the pilgrim a nice tour through the orchard next to the capital of Murcia, next to the river Segura.
Also, soon to be opened in the town a place of new construction to be known as the Cross of Caravaca.
Located at the Constitution Avenue in the neighborhood of local Rosales, this place will be a new bond with the local municipality caravaqueña.
